Seventeen years later, a trip home leads Cameron McCade back to Salt Fork, Texas and the newly widowed Jessie Devine. Since his return, the fire between them burns as hot as ever. Can they take up where they left off? Can Jessie risk her heart again?
The Doctor Wears a Stetson was pretty good… pretty predictable, but still pretty good.
I liked Jessie… most of the time. I spent a fair amount of time wanting to shake some sense into her. She had a great big heart and a great personality, but she took an awful lot for granted. She also had a strange sense of loyalty that I didn’t really understand.
I kind of liked Cameron too, once I forgave him for leaving in the first place. I liked his brothers and I especially liked his mom.
Basically, The Doctor Who Wears a Stetson was a nice fast read that was a pretty good transition or ‘in between’ book. The next book in the Diamondback Ranch series was set up perfectly. The Cowboy Surrenders should prove to be interesting. 😉
