How many of you simply love when a book contains a steamy love triangle? How many of you absolutely hate it when a book contains a steamy love triangle? (*cough* Amanda *cough*) Well, regardless of which side of the proverbial fence you are on, there are a lot of them out there. Even if you haven’t read them, you’ve heard of them. Even if you haven’t picked a “team,” you know what people are talking about when they swoon over and lovingly (I’m being polite) defend their choice. Because these triangles seem to be running rampant, I decided to center my challenge around some of these steamy couples that we either love or hate to read about. Below you will find my nifty graphic showing various love triangles found in books. Most I have read, some I got from my daughter and some I got from Soulswallo (who is not only my co-host, particihost & partner in crime – she is also hosting her own challenge – so run check it out.) Granted, some of the triangles I’ve listed are a stretch. They may not have been the central theme of the book and they may have only lasted for a couple of chapters, but they were at least mentioned or a possibility somewhere in the book or series. Some of them are down right comical, but that may just be me. Anyway, the object of the challenge is to match the love triangle with the book that the characters come from. Oh yeah, did I mention there were prizes?
Megg Jensen’s Cloud Profit Trilogy! That’s right, not just one of the books from this series, but the entire trilogy! Severed is due to be released at the end of November, but one lucky winner will receive the first two books and then Severed as soon as it is released. For more info on these books, check out my reviews of Anathema and Oubliette. These books will be sent to out in the winner’s preferred ebook format.
But that’s not all! I also have an ebook copy of Michelle Muto’s Don’t Fear the Reaper for another lucky winner. Just in case you haven’t heard anything about Don’t Fear the Reaper, please check out my review of that as well.
So who wins what? Since I can’t decide which one of these great books would be considered first or second place I decided to let it be the first place winner’s choice. How will I choose that winner? I’ve debated about that. Because not everyone can participate all week I wanted to make sure everyone had a chance even if they didn’t get to start until mid-week. So to keep things fair, the people with the most correct answers will be randomly chosen for first place. The second place contestants will be chosen the same way. That way the contest can run through the entire week of Bout-of-Books. I’ll announce the winners and post the answers on Monday, October 31.
Now, on with the Challenge! To help you out a little, I’m showing you glimpses of the covers from the books in question. You will notice that there aren’t as many book covers as there are triangles. That’s because some books have more than one. If a love triangle occurred in a series, I only have one book from that series shown. It may not be the exact book that the love triangle happened in, but it’s only to let you know which series the triangle came from. Likewise, if the triangle came from a series, you only have to give me the series title. If you have any questions or if I need to clarify anything (within reason – I’m not giving any answers away) just ask. To send me your answers, just fill out the form. Don’t list your answers in the comments section! We don’t want to give any answers away, now do we? Also, make sure you tell me which ebook prize you want if you’re the lucky winner! When you give me your answers, just give me a number with the series or book title that belongs to the lovers in question and put the answer in the comments section of the form. Pretty simple, huh? Just remember the most important rule, you have to be a participant in Bout-of-Books to play – and we will be checking!
Once you’ve finished this Challenge, be sure to go check out soulswallo’s Nickname Challenge. She’s got even more prizes up for grabs.
